A Parent’s Guide To Raising Vegan Kids

As a vegan parent, you may be aware of the negative effects of consistent meat consumption and dairy consumption. When a kid is raised a vegan, it is easier to sustain a healthy diet and a fit body as an adult.

However, harshly inducing interest to your kids can become a barrier to their conversion. Giving them authority by asking their assistance while cooking, filling up your kitchen with fruits, and going on a stimulating vegan trip such as a culinary cruise are just some of the best ways to help you in encouraging a healthy, plant-based diet for your child without being forceful.

I. Ask assistance from your kids to make your favorite vegan meals.

The best way to influence anyone is by secretly engaging them in your common vegan practices. According to Bahee Van de Bor, “Vegan diets also present one opportunity for families to teach children about nutrition and healthy eating principles from an early age.” As early as your children can walk, talk, and interact, attract them with what you do rather than what you say. That applies to all kinds of practices that you want to implement.

II. Incorporate dairy alternatives

There are numerous dangers in dairy consumption. Dr. Frank Oski, the former director of pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University said,: “There is no reason to drink cow’s milk at any time in your life. It was designed for calves, it was not designed for humans, and we should all stop drinking it today, this afternoon.” Incorporating dairy alternatives such as soy milk, almond milk,  and vegan butters can make their transition phase smoother.

III. Fill up your fridge with fruits

A general logic of a human’s mind is to eat what is available. It is just practical and healthy to fill your kitchen with fruits – technically because all fruits are vegan. Adding fruits to overnight oats and smoothies can also be a fun technique you can use on your kids.

IV. Go on exciting vegan trips

The ease of travel has pushed for a generation of family travelers, adventurers, and risk takers. Travel is basically a part of a modern family’s life and it is easy to get caught up with what we find on the road, especially because food is part of it. Staying vegan on a trip is a tough dispute because of all the possible risks in meat-serving restaurants who claim to serve “vegan” dishes. Fortunately, there are exciting vegan culinary cruises that can help give you a peace of mind and your kids a memorable and reliably vegan experience that they’ll surely love.
